The Key to Keeping Mail Organized…

One of the first systems I setup in the new house was my mail center as mail can feel overwhelming coming in almost daily!

One of the keys to staying on top of mail is having a good system in place to process it all.

After I check the mail and immediately sort out the trash (🗑), recycling (♻️), & shred (🚫), the mail then gets sorted into the mail center in my office (pictured above):

⏰TIMELY ACTION (red label signifying high priority!) – Things that require action AND have a deadline.

⏱ACTION – Things that require action BUT don’t have a deadline.

📥PROCESSING – Things I’ve already actioned and I’m waiting on something or someone.

💰COUPONS – Coupons to be put into my coupon binder which floats between my purse, car, or kitchen counter.

📃RECEIPTS – Recent personal or business receipts for the year.

One category that’s missing here is the “things to read” pile for magazines, journals, etc. which is another story in itself!

In the meantime, if you’re drowning in mail, consider a system like this. It works beautifully and is rather easy to setup. The only thing is… YOU must work with it, consistently (which you can! 💪🏼).
