I have always listened to and read many self help book and have lost count of how many times I have listened to all my Anthony Robbins CD! I am a mum of 3 girls aged 18, 15, and 6. I work part time and also have fibromyalgia. Before I stumbled across Alejandra’s videos I had made up my mind to do 30 minutes of cleaning and tidying each morning as I am up at 5AM and am a morning person. Funnily enough I was clearing out my emails (I had 6,000 of them!), when I stumbled upon a link to one of the videos, sent to me by my extremely untidy 18 year old! I am so thankful that I watched the first video! At the age of 42 I have come to the conclusion that we waste so much of our lives procrastinating, wishing we could be more organised and get more done.
I have gone through EVERY drawer and cupboard in our house and sorted the contents, got rid of things that should not be there and also put things in containers etc. I can’t believe how liberating this has been and I wondered why I hadn’t done it years ago! How nice it is to know where everything is and feel that if anyone looked in any drawer or cupboard or drawer in my house, it would be tidy!. I find myself looking for things to do which may be a bit sad but it is so nice to feel I have the house under control. I am trying to get my girls to realise that organisation is the key and if you have control of as many aspects of your life as you can, it will free up so much time and you will be happier. As well as the house, I also feel I am taking control of my weight loss, exercise, work, and relationships with the family. I really feel this has changed my life.
If you do something enough times it becomes a habit. I try and add one thing to my routine each day and it is wonderful to come home to a tidy home after work, and have time to sit down in the garden with a coffee instead of rushing around tidying! Yesterday I bought a planner which has a list in the back of the contents of the freezer and also a list of birthdays so I can make sure I have cards and also wish the person a happy birthday on the day which is nice. Each week I do a meal plan in the beginning of the book and also have lists of what exercise I need to do for the day, any shopping I need to buy for that day, any appointments I have, anything I need to post etc. And I also list one special thing a day I would like to do for someone. It can be a large or small thing. It may be over the top but it works for me!
