Mail really isn’t that complicated. It’s only complicated when you let it go and then all of the sudden there are piles everywhere. So, how do you avoid getting overwhelmed by stacks and stacks of mail? Create a mail center inside your home.
Below is a simple mail center I setup and installed for my client Maureen. If you look closely, there are sections for incoming, outgoing, action, coupons, magazines, time sensitive, stuff to file, and stuff to shred. We setup the system according to Maureen’s needs (your sections will probably vary).
The point of this mail center is so Maureen can have a place for EVERY single piece of paper that enters her house so that when it comes time to pay bills, grab coupons, or file papers, she knows exactly where things are. That said, she no longer has random “stacks” of paper floating around the house (that is, assuming she follows the system and consistently maintains the space). There are several ways to create mail systems, this is just ONE way to do it.
