If you struggle with piles of mail. The very first step after checking the mail is to SORT, SORT, SORT!
Sort out the obvious junk mail, eliminate the trash, remove the noise if you will.
The goal is to ONLY keep the mail that requires you to TAKE ACTION! Everything else should get weeded out immediately so it doesn’t have a chance to sit and stack.
While it doesn’t matter what type of trash cans you use to weed things out, if you’re just getting started with organizing, these are the ones I’ve been using for 5+ years.
They live next to my desk where I process mail. One for TRASH, one for SHRED, one for RECYCLE. The labels are color-coded so I can easily identify each category without confusion. They line up beautifully next to each other since they’re square! Sorting is a breeze! Any remaining mail to action goes into a mail center!
